First time visits will require a complete psychiatric evaluation. This will cover physical as well as mental health, any family histories of mental issues, and medication review. These first visits usually take over an hour and can run to almost two hours. A 90 minute time slot will be allotted for initial visits.

Follow up visits typically run around 30 minutes or longer, depending on your needs. If you have been started on any medications, you will need a few follow up visits to ensure that the medications are working properly for you.

 Some mental illnesses respond well to medications and therapies. Some respond better to Psychotherapy and treatments. If you are on any medication currently, any new medications will be prescribed to work with your current treatments. 

Psychotherapy has been called talk therapy. It offers you an opportunity to improve your mental health through therapeutic communication. Information shared during these visits will be confidential.
